Another forward for the Lightning
Tyson Nash, who has not played in the NHL since his two-season stint ended with the Coyotes in 2006, will get a tryout next month with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
"I'm gonna give it one more last kick at the can," he said.
Nash, 33, played part of the 2006-07 season with the San Antonio Rampage and then was dealt to the Toronto Maple Leafs, playing 54 games in their minor-league system. Toward the end of 2007, he went to Japan and played with the Nippon Paper Cranes of the Asia League.
Nash joins a training camp that already includes forwards Vinny Lecavalier, Martin St. Louis, Ryan Malone, Steve Stamkos, Vinny Prospal, Radim Vrbata, Gary Roberts, Jussi Jokinen, Mark Recchi, Michel Ouellet, Chris Gratton, Evgeny Artyukhin, Ryan Craig, Adam Hall, Jason Ward, Nick Tarnasky, David Koci, Brandon Bochenski, Wyatt Smith and Zenon Konopka.
Jeff Halpern, who will be injured to start the year, will join the group at a later date.
Needless to say, Nash could have chosen a better team for a "last kick at the can" than one with seven or eight too many players up front already. Four or five of these fellows can play in the minors, but it's likely we see Tampa Bay shed bodies at some point.
Now if Nash was a defenceman ...

So when a team has a 2nd line forward injured during training camp or the preseason, Tampa Bay will be in a good spot to demand something. They have a decent list of forwards. Some guys will be busting their asses to make the team.
Does Len Barrie own shares in Dollarama?
Oooh Lightning this..Tampa that.

What a bunch of scrubs.
Oh yeah and their drafting is still reminscent of what comes out of cow's rear end.
Len Barrie is worth 300-400 million but Dollarama shares are not in his portofolio.
I think Tyson Nash is in the right organisation because there seems to be quite a few Tampa haters around and Tyson one of the most hated players in recent NHL history.
Here's hoping that Tampa will be top team in the East and then face last summer's "it team" Edmonton in the Stanley Cup final.
According to blog world both teams were built wrong.
Sad fact: Tyson Nash was the third greatest player that JFJ acquired for the Leafs during his reign of terror.
He may not have actually played in the NHL, but at least he didn't have a NTC.
It would be strangely interesting to see a team suit up with nothing but forwards and a goalie. Talk about a gimmick, I'd watch it
How was Edmonton built wrong? Who says that? I mean, they have holes, sure, but so do 25+ other teams in the League.
