Drake retires
Red Wings forward Dallas Drake will retire after raising the Stanley Cup last month for the first time in his 16-year career.A great way to end a long NHL career, no doubt.
Drake announced his retirement Tuesday.
Last month's victory over Pittsburgh was Drake's first championship in 15 seasons in the NHL.

It's a good way to go out, but I'm also glad he did it. The Wings would have retained him had he decided to stay, and they are already up to their ears in players.
Had he stayed, he would have had a limited role. If he wanted a larger one he would need a trade, and I don't think he wanted to go out on another team.
I enjoyed Dallas Drake's career, even back when he was part of a Northern Michigan team that consistently beat the Gophers. I'll miss him in the NHL, and I'm glad he got his ring.
Pay attention, Brett Favre - this is how a man retires with class. :)
And to think that he thought the highlight of his hockey career would be winning it all in college. Good for him.
Why is Drake retiring when Chelios should be?
