Linden to retire
Vancouver Canucks forward Trevor Linden will make a special announcement at General Motors Place on Wednesday, June 11, 2008.>> team release
I'll have more as this is confirmed.
UPDATE This is a done deal. "Exactly 20 years to the day after Linden was drafted 2nd overall by the Vancouver Canucks in 1988, the popular forward will announce his retirement from the Canucks and the National Hockey League."

And henceforth, June 11 shall be known in Vancouver as Linden Day.
Seriously.
I wouldn't be surprised.
I know it's not as big as Linden, but for what it's worth...
Mattias Norstrom retired today also. Unheralded defensive dman that was one of the best for a lot of years. We appreciated him here in Dallas, even before he came here, since he was always known as L.A.'s version of Derian Hatcher.
I hear the mayor's job will be open in Vancouver come autumn.
Linden could win. Seriously.
