Awards on TV
For whatever reason, the NHL awards are on CBC tonight at 8 p.m., tape delayed. You can watch them in real time online at the network's website, however.
American viewers can watch the show on Versus at 7 p.m.
UPDATE The New York Times' hockey blog is live blogging the festivities, as are a whole host of other blogs.
Not me. I'm good on the couch.
UPDATE And the winners are ... all listed at Kukla's Korner.
Almost perfect on the predictions, except for the Masterton, which went to Jason Blake. He likely had plenty of support from the New York and Toronto region voters and was just as deserving as the other nominees.
The NHL's next "event" is the draft in eight days in Ottawa.

Martin Brodeur should have asked where Sean Avery was.
How can Blake possibly have been deserving?
His life wasn't in danger. He played 82 games this year, so I guess it wasn't career-threatening. And he wasn't very good this season at all, though I guess that doesn't really have any bearing on this trophy.
Granted, as an Oil fan, I'm biased. Still, could I maybe get an explanation of what made Blake even get a nomination?
Was it Perseverance? Dedication? Or Sportsmanship?
I'm at a loss....
His condition had the word "cancer" in it. Automatic extra point right there. Callous but true IMHO.
