The Koivu injury: Desktop edition
Tough break for the McFarlane Figure selects.
UPDATE I'm not poking fun at Koivu — he's as good a guy in hockey as there is and one of my all-time favs for both the way he plays and winning his battle with cancer. I just got this McFarlane — my first — and already he went down. Heart-breaking, I know.
So, this is what his likeness looks like now on my desk, out of respect, until he recovers. Here's hoping I won't have to add an eye patch.

Hey, Koivu's pretty much my favourite NHLer... I'm as sad about it as anyone. It's even sadder looking over at my little McFarlane Koivu, still all in one piece.
He picks the Dallas Stars to be Stanley Cup finalists and this is what causes the masses to gather outside the Mirtle gates with pitchforks?
Whatever. As long as the outer enamel on my Sundin figurine hasn't been chipped off with a weed-whacker, I'll be happy.
My Daniel Alfredsson is in a permanent stick-throwing motion, and my Jake Plummer wore pearls after the Broncos' playoff loss. I never violate my Elway figure, however. That would be sacrilege.

You have to admire the attention to detail... the stick is actually under the visor, and pointed at the right eye...
