Schedule musings
Some interesting notes about the remaining 27 days of the NHL's regular season (for teams in the playoff race):
Most games remaining
14 - Ottawa, Buffalo, Anaheim, San Jose, NY Islanders
Fewest games remaining
11 - Vancouver
Most home games remaining
9 - Montreal
8 - Ottawa, Carolina, Vancouver, Tampa Bay, NY Islanders
Fewest home games remaining
4 - Atlanta
5 - Detroit, NY Rangers
Most back to backs
4 - Buffalo, San Jose, NY Islanders
3 - Detroit, Dallas, Ottawa, Carolina, NY Rangers, Philadelphia, Anaheim, Toronto
Fewest back to backs
1 - Florida
Biggest schedule break
Four days - NY Rangers, Vancouver, Atlanta, Los Angeles
Smallest schedule break
Two days - Ottawa, Carolina, Calgary, Colorado, New Jersey, Tampa Bay, Anaheim, San Jose, Montreal, NY Islanders, Florida
In summary? Well, that's as tightly packed an end-of-season schedule as I've ever seen. These teams might as well be playing playoff hockey right now because the pace will be nearly a game every second night. (In fact, even more than that for those teams with 14 games to play.)

It is great how often these teams who are competing with each other for the playoffs will be playing each other in the final few weeks of the season. It is going to be some fun hockey to watch.
Good stuff David. It'd probably be even more helpful to have the home/away status next to each opponent.
